Jaipur, also known as 'Pink City', it is the capital of Rajasthan, The Land of Great Kingdoms. Jaipur called Pink City because extensive use of pink colour on the walls of the old city when Prince Wales was visited India and still we can see the same tradition followed by this traditional city.
The city was founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber on 18 November 1727. Jaipur was one of the most important parts of its glorious history which reflects the magnificent forts palaces and other monuments. Jaipur is also widely known as the city of victory. The city seeks to combine the modern with the ancient and gleaming malls with resplendent palaces and forts. The old city of Jaipur is surrounded by a strong wall and beautiful ornately painted gates.

1: Amer Fort and Palace:-
Located about 11 kilometres north of Jaipur city, Amber Fort Palace is the main attraction of Jaipur. Amber was the capital of the Kachhwaha Rajputs for over 700 years. It is one of the most beautiful forts of the region, which is situated forested hill promontory that juts into Maota Lake near the town of Amer. Some of the important attractions within the forts are such as Sattais Katcheri, Diwan-i-Aam, the colonnade of 27 pillars where scribes assembled, Jas Mandir, Ganesh Pol, Sukh Niwas, Sheesh Mahal, Shila Devi temple and Jai Mahal.
The red sandstone and marble stone construction reflect a blend of Hindu-Muslim architecture. Here you can enjoy the elephant ride.
2:-City Palace:-
Located in the heart of Jaipur, was where the Maharaja reigned from. This palace includes the Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal palaces and other buildings as well. This beautiful palace was built by Sawai Jai Singh II, between 1729 and 1732 AD. City Palace is another must-see attraction of Jaipur.
3:- Hawa Mahal:-
Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) is one of the most popular attractions of Jaipur. The palace was designed for the royal women so that they could see the festivals of the city without coming out of the palace. It was built of red and pink sandstone. There are 953 windows in the building which resembles a honeycomb structure. This heritage architecture reflects the real traditions of the Rajput dynasty.
4:- Jantar Mantar Observatory:-
Jantar Mantar Observatory is one of the prime attractions of Jaipur, which was built by Sawai Jai Singh. It is one of the 5 Jantar Mantars built by him throughout India. The building was used for astronomical calculations. The monument is a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is another must-see attraction of Jaipur.
5:-Government Central (Albert Hall) Museum:-
It is located in Ram Niwas Bagh. Modelled on the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. It houses a vast collection of Indian arts and crafts, including metalware, carved ivory, jewellery, textiles, pottery sculptures and paintings.
6:- Jaigarh Fort:-
Jaigarj Fort is located at a promontory called the Cheel ka Teela (Hill of Eagles) of the Aravali hills. It provides excellent views of the Maota Lake, Amber Fort and Aravali ranges. Jaigarh fort was built in 1726 by Raja Jai Singh II and it was named after him. This is also known as a victory fort and the design of the fort is quite similar to Amer fort. The fort is located 10 kilometres away from Jaipur city centre. It houses the world's largest cannon on wheels.
7:-Nahargarh Fort:-
Located on the foothill of Aravali. It provides an excellent view of the Jaipur city. The fort was constructed by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur in 1734. Nahargarh was the strong defence ring for the city. Originally the fort was named Sudarshangarh, later it became known as Nahargarh, which means 'abode of tigers'. The fort offers a stunning view of the sunset.
8- Gaitore:-
It is one of the major tourist attractions in Jaipur. The Royal family of Kachhwaha Rajput used this as a cremation ground. The word ‘Gaitore' is believed to be a mispronounced form of the Hindi phrase, 'Gaye ka Thor' which means ‘resting place of the departed souls'. It is located about 15 km away from Jaipur city.
